Listener Comments From The First 100 Days

You can always listen to the calls on YouTube, Spotify, or Apple Podcasts.

You can also come here, where I post every day, unless I’m at a race.

Also I think you can see the AI-generated transcripts at the Apple Podcasts.

You can also email me at 180seconds4you@gmail.com.

We had some milestones in this 100 days, and if I missed some, please let me know. Aaron reached 300 calls, but he also passed a year. It’s actually more than 300 calls, but he’s honest and doesn’t count his weekend edition as calls. But he should. Jove passed 1000 straight days of running, and Dr. Gilbert is almost at 12,500 calls. I think I have a ways to go.

You are what your record says you are.

Be where your feet are.

Move obstacles out of the way. This caller gave the example of setting out your work clothes the night before, so there’s less resistance to going to the gym in the morning.

There is no way to grow without change.

You should focus on what makes you happy, not what makes you better than someone else.

Comparison is the thief of joy.

When we use labels, we usually have decided how the person is going to act or be, and we don’t even know them.

The universe is like an Amazon truck driver roaming around the city. In order to bring something to your door, you have to place an order. In other words, you have to be specific. Once you do that, and if you have Amazon Prime, meaning you know how to direct your attention and your vibrations, then the driver can deliver what you need. Be aware of the traffic jams you create by having opposite thought. That’s a very common reason why manifestations don’t happen.

There’s a difference between giving up and quitting. You may have to quit momentarily in order to come back and pursue the big goal, or perhaps go down a different pathway.

You can’t quit something you haven’t started.

Stress doesn’t really enhance your performance.

A relaxed mind is a creative mind.

Have PEP, P-E-P. Pressure enhances performance.

Fold or Gold. Some people fold with pressure, and some win gold.

Trust your training. Maybe if you do that, you won’t have to put so much pressure on yourself.

We shouldn’t mistake movement for progress.

Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready. Be the most prepared person in the room.

If a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing it well.

Remember how little things are extremely important. It was the two O-rings that caused the Challenger to crash all those years ago.

You can get anything you want in life just by helping enough people get what they want.

You can’t rewind the tape, so start where you are and work from there forward.

Out of adversity comes advantage.

We shouldn’t try to create and analyze at the same time. It’s two different processes.

The worst that can happen may be the best that can happen.

You can always quit later or tomorrow.

We never do anything by ourselves.

When you add up all the small changes, big things will happen.

Remember Rumi’s poem, Guest House, which ends with, “Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.”

We don’t connect with each other through our successes, but through our brokenness.

There’s no effort without error.

You need to have a plan and a method of how you measure your performance towards a goal. Otherwise, you don’t know what you have to improve on.

Doubt is the salesman that will knock on your door every day. Don’t answer it.

If you can’t change another person’s behavior, don’t let that bother you. Let it go.

What you think of me is none of my business.

Approach things with curiosity, especially if you don’t have an answer. Instead of taking things personally, get to the bottom of the problem and develop an ongoing sense of curiosity.

It’s important to teach children not only how to apologize healthily, but also how to mess up in a hot, healthy manner.

One way to look at the rain is that it’s going to rain anyway, so you can either put on a raincoat or get wet.

Ask people, do you want my advice or do you just want me to listen?

Spending time with someone else is more gratifying than spending money on yourself.

So many of us worry about something that took maybe 10 seconds out of all the seconds in the day. That’s three one hundredths of a percent that you’re worrying about. Try to get yourself in the habit of thinking about a year from now and how important will that thought or event be then.

Plato said, “Be kind. Everyone is carrying a heavy burden.”

It’s helpful to think about why people may be doing something that aggravates you. They may just have inferiority feelings and once you figure that out, you can help them.

Every difficulty can be overcome if rightly dealt with. The task which cannot be overcome ceases to be a difficulty and becomes an impossibility.

Pray about everything and worry about nothing.

Start the day with an intention and something you’re grateful for. That allows you to reset your focus throughout the day when you review your intention.

Growth and comfort can’t coexist. If you want to grow, you have to step out of your comfort zone.

Make plans, implement them, and then evaluate them to see what needs revision and what can stay the same.

Pray with your feet, do something, take action.

When using it’s the start that stops most people, it’s invaluable and almost necessary to know what it is that’s stopping you.

If the instruction book is wrong, don’t blame yourself.

Put your goal list by your toilet.

Don’t assume responsibility that isn’t yours.

The message we should all be giving to the universe is hey, I’m here and I’m ready to receive.

Even the strongest memory isn’t as powerful as the faintest ink.

When you’re starting out at something, like starting to run and you go to the gym, or maybe even just get out on the road, initially you probably won’t see progress. So in order to stay motivated, put something like $5 in the jar every time you go. That way, even though you may not see progress in the body, you’ll see progress in the jar.

Sometimes people don’t start things because of the fear of that first step and then what lies beyond. The more you’re aware of this, the more you can help them.

If you look at an upcoming change and say, what will this do for me, or how will it benefit me, how excited can I get, your brain therefore looks forward to the change with excitement instead of dread.

You can’t change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails.

One of the greatest strengths is the ability to adjust.

The more you have, the more stress you have in your life. This is a big argument for cleaning out and minimizing.

If it doesn’t spark joy, get rid of it.

Remember to check to see how full or empty your suitcase is.

Use complaining for good to get an idea of what you really want. Remember clarity through contrast.

Winners train and losers complain.

Sometimes people who introduce change are actually trying to stay in their comfort zone.
